They both have been given a gift from God. I don’t compare them, because they are both amazing. My sadness now, is because Whitney is drowning her talent in drugs. Come on girl!
Wow they are both incredible singers. The title says Whitney Houston AND Celine not Whitney VS. Celine. Two incredible singers who knew and still know how to turn a melody and a lyric into an anthem.

Whitney is sharp just about the whole time. Celine is flat just a couple times. That’s the difference. Team Celine!!! She’s the one still delivering vocally and not giving crap concerts during a recession. Really?? 200 Euros for a Whitney concert with the state she is in?? I’d rather spend the extra few bob and fly to the states to see Celine in Vegas.

Not close. Celine didn’t use her song as an excuse to do vocal exercises in an attempt to show off…she performed the beautiful melody as no one else can.
Too many singers forget what singing is. Being able to hit a lot of notes doesn’t mean you do it all the time. Guitarist Ynwie Malmsteen has the exact same problem

@SFFL1996 what videos have u been watching, whitney only got to singing differently when she got on crack, u shud watch her other videos, most of them she sang better than the studio version, plus during the body guard album/movie, she began to experiment with crack which deteriated her voice, but i love both whitney and celine, i think they are the best two female singers, just one has soul and one doesn’t.

Which is why I dislike this person putting up the few strong Whitney performances, and comparing them to the weaker performances by singers who are known to match their studio work, such as Mariah, and Celine Dion.
No offense to Whitney fans, but we all know when it comes to live singing, she can’t touch Celine Dion, and nowadays, she nolonger can match/outsing Mariah.
@SFFL1996 I have to say, this is one of the only Whitney performance where she sounds a tiny bit like the studio version, most of the times she doesn`t hold her notes one third long when she`s live, and nowadays, let`s just not talk about it, if you heard whitney singing lately you’ll see she lost her voice totally. and sadly I have to add.
This is so impressive, I have seen better performances live of Celine Dion singing this song though. And Whitney is so amazing too, and I have seen better performance from her singing that song too. I am impressed that both singers can raise their voices to high, and resting less than a SECOND to raise it again high. I love them both.
Why do you always pick the worst performances of the people you pit Whitney against to make her look good?
We all know that wasn’t a strong Celine Dion performance, and we all know “If It’s Over” wasn’t a standout Mariah performance, so why pick those performances to compare to strong Whitney ones?
If you’re going to compare, atleast compare vidoes of them BOTH singing well…not just Whitney….

I totally agree with Pussycatfeathers. It’s not about race, or ethnicity. Some people were granted certain talents. I personally think Christina is the best, but by that I mean, to me. I prefer her style vs. other equally talented female vocalists. But, to each his/her own. A good voice, a strong set of pipes, good diaphragm control, and the ability to hold, and play with a note, it’s all a gift from God, not an ability of any one race.
They both sound amazing.
