MrGrevy July 12, 2010 at 6:16 pm

Hmm wonder if maybe some grateful dead tunes would have been more appropriate as an intro?

krispy365 July 12, 2010 at 9:02 pm

whats the song in the beginning

TheGratefulSlim July 12, 2010 at 9:11 pm

@Sublime83195

No Ipod is complete without stems and seeds in my opinion!!
The original studio version can be found on Solar Circus’ Step Right Up album which you can probably find on the net. The songs writer Tom Donovan also played the song with his other bands Freudian Slip and Splintered Sunlight.

I’m guessing YouTube doesn’t allow links or I’d link you a great version and show. Check live archives and search Splintered Sunlight Stems and Seeds show date 2004-04-20. One of my favs!

Does anybody know where I can get the song and put it on my iPod

MegaChickendoodle July 12, 2010 at 9:41 pm

It’s “Stems & Seeds” by Solar Circus, who are now Juggling Suns.

cmdzero July 12, 2010 at 10:42 pm

dingo dont be so judgmental ive been listening to the dead for 14 years and im 17 as it is today not all of my generation is listening to the dead just cause they condone cannabis or partying. wich i agree with you on a 100 percent that epople listen to all music not just the dead for the wrong reasons

ChrisGuerre July 12, 2010 at 11:18 pm

Times change gramps, Who do you think you are? like you had a purpose at A Grateful Dead show. I’m a musician, I KNOW WHY I GO TO SHOWS !!

mkultra12973 July 12, 2010 at 11:59 pm

good we want you to stay home if you cant appreciate what we got left.

observationman July 13, 2010 at 12:46 am

The reason nothing will ever come close to a Dead show is because bottom line, it was a free for all! All the festivals and shows today are regulated and that really makes a huge difference.

jiveafro July 13, 2010 at 1:32 am

The shows in 2009 where amazing. Sure there are bad kids on the lot but man the music is so good. I hope they never stop as long as Bobby can lift a guitar and Billy can hold those sticks!!!

evildingo1 July 13, 2010 at 1:43 am

The dead should really really stop touring.

The generation who are following them now, have nothing in common to why we attended the shows 20 or 30 years ago. They are wannabees that are just looking to party.

I still listen to the dead, …alot. But I am unsure if I would ever go see them again. The memories I have of the old school shows are so fond, I would hate to taint them with todays attendees of bratty little, ADD, instant gratification seeking kids.

Sublime83195 July 13, 2010 at 1:52 am

Does anybody know what the name of the song during the intro is.

teamgreenkx500 July 13, 2010 at 2:43 am
